The PM Vishwakarma Yojana is an initiative by the Indian government to improve the livelihood of artisans and craftspeople, known as Vishwakarma. These traditional workers, involved in trades passed down through generations, are often part of the informal economy and require assistance to modernize their skills, gain access to financial support, and enter formal markets. This scheme, fully funded by the Government of India, seeks to integrate these workers into national and global value chains.
The PM Vishwakarma Yojana, with a ₹13,000 crore investment over five years, (up to 2027-28) supports artisans in enhancing their products and expanding into domestic and global markets, managed by the Ministry of MSME.
