Here are the steps you can follow to apply for an HSBC Debit Card online:

To enable your HSBC Debit Card for the contactless transaction feature, here are the steps you can make use of:

  1. Check whether your debit card has the Visa payWave logo, indicating contactless capability.
  2. Send a secure message via HSBC Internet Banking with the subject line ‘Debit card set transaction limits.’
  3. Make a contactless payment at the checkout terminal at the participating merchants. Tap your card on the terminal to complete the transaction.

For domestic transactions, the maximum limit for contactless payment is ₹2000 per transaction. For international transactions, the maximum limit is ₹5000 per transaction.

Note that for transactions above a certain amount, you may be required to enter your PIN for extra security.

Does HSBC Bank provide cashback in 2025?

From 1st February 2025 to 31st July 2025, the HSBC Debit Card provides a limited period 5% cashback offer to new and existing customers on Point of Sale and online transactions.

The cashback eligibility requires up to twice your salary credit during the offer period.

The minimum value per transaction eligible for the cashback is ₹1000. The maximum value per transaction is the daily debit card limit as per the card type.
