Download Duplicate PAN Card Online

You can download your duplicate PAN Card online in simple steps, such as:

   2. In the menu section, click on ‘Download e-PAN/e-PAN XML.

3. Select the option to receive OTP.

Process to Surrender a Duplicate PAN Card

It is important to note that owning multiple PAN Cards by an individual is a punishable offence, under Section 139A of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Hence, the duplicate must be surrendered to the Income Tax Department. For this, you can make use of both online and offline methods:

Online:

1. Visit the official website of NSDL.
2. Go to ‘PAN Change Request Online Form’ page.
3. Choose ‘Changes or Correction in PAN Data’ and enter your details.
4. List the duplicate PANs you wish to surrender.
5. Submit the form.
6. Select your submission method (e-KYC, Digital Signature Certificate, or Physical Document).
7. Upload the required documents and pay the fees.

Offline:

1. Download the PAN form from the NSDL website or obtain it from the Income Tax Office.
2. Fill out the form with the necessary details and submit it to the nearest NSDL center with the required documents.
3. Once the acknowledgment slip is received, send it to NSDL within 15 days.
4. Write a letter to the Assessing Officer, and mention the details of the duplicate PAN card that are to be retained.
5. Submit the letter to the local Income Tax Assessing Officer.
6. Maintain the acknowledgment number for reference.
