Udyam Aadhaar Eligibility Criteria

  • The enterprise must be a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise (MSME) as defined by the MSMED Act, 2006.
  • The enterprise must be engaged in manufacturing or service activities.
  • The enterprise must not be a proprietorship firm with an investment in plant and machinery of more than Rs. 10 crore.
  • The enterprise must not be a partnership firm with an investment in plant and machinery of more than Rs. 20 crore.
  • The enterprise must not be a company or a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) with an investment in plant and machinery of more than Rs. 50 crore.

Stages to Register Enterprises

There are stages to registering micro, small and medium enterprises i.e;

STAGE 1: Any person who wishes to establish a micro, small, or medium enterprise can file Udyam registration online, through the Udyam registration portal. (This registration can be done without uploading any documents, or proof, based only on self-declared information).

STAGE 2: After registration an enterprise called ‘Udyam’ in the registration portal wi. Get a permanent identity number or ‘Udyam registration number’.

STAGE 3: Finally, an e-certificate: Udyam registration certificate will be issued upon completion of the registration process.

How to Register for Udyog Aadhaar

Registering for Udyog Aadhaar streamlines recognition for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India. It involves providing basic business details through the official portal, enabling easy access to government benefits and support.

Prerequisites for Registration Process

1. Enterprises intending to register should have a valid Aadhaar number.

  • The Aadhaar number can be of the proprietor of a partnership firm.
  • The Aadhaar number can be the managing partner for a partnership firm.
  • The Aadhaar number can be of a karta in the case of Hindu Undivided Family(HUF).

2. For a company or a limited partnership or Cooperative society or a Society or a trust, the organisation or its authority should provide the GSTIN and PAN with an Aadhaar number.

3. If an already existing enterprise has a deficiency of information, they can fill up the same on self-declaration.

4. No enterprise can file more than once.

5. Misrepresentation or suppressing self-declaration can attract a penalty under section 27 of the Act.

Steps to Register as New Registrations to Udyam

Register your company in the Udyam registration portal. You can fill out the form and register for free. An existing enterprise can register under the EM-Part-II or register again through the Udyam registration portal after 1 July 2020. Here’s how to register:

Note:

  • All enterprises registered till 30th June 2020, shall be reclassified per this notification.
  • The existing enterprises registered before 30th June 2020, shall remain valid only for a period up to the 31st day of December 2021.
  • An enterprise registered with any other organisation under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises shall register itself under Udyam Registration.
