SBI Green PIN Works
To generate an SBI green PIN, you can use any channel that you are comfortable with including using the ATM machine, internet banking, SMS, or by calling customer service.
An OTP or one-time password will be sent to your registered mobile number, after which you can change it to your desired ATM PIN within the specified time frame at your nearest SBI ATM. Given below are the various ways to generate your ATM PIN.
Steps to Generate SBI Green PIN Through ATM
If there is an SBI ATM near you, then you can set your PIN easily by going to the ATM. Here are the steps to generate your SBI green PIN through ATM:
- Step 1: Go to the nearest SBI ATM, and carry your new debit card as well as your passbook.
- Step 2: Swipe or insert your card into the ATM machine.
- Step 3: Select the PIN generation from the screen.
- Step 4: Check your passbook for your 11-digit account number and enter it into the provided slot then click ‘Continue’.
- Step 5: Enter your registered mobile number, then click the ‘Confirm’.
- Step 6: You will then get an OTP which you will have to enter.
- Step 7: You will then be able to create a 4-digit debit card PIN number. Click ‘Confirm’ once you create the PIN and you will get an acknowledgment message on your mobile phone that the SBI PIN generation is successful.

Steps to Generate SBI Green PIN Through SMS
If there is no ATM nearby, you can also set up a new PIN through your mobile phone SMS. Here is what you need to do if you want to generate the SBI green PIN through SMS:
Send an SMS with the message “PIN [SPACE] last four digits of your SBI ATM card [SPACE] last four digits of your SBI Bank account number” to the phone number 567676.
For example: PIN 0123 5678 which you send to the number 567676.
Steps to Generate SBI Green PIN Through Internet Banking
SBI also allows you to generate your SBI green PIN through Internet banking, making it convenient for you if that is your chosen method. Here are the steps to set up your SBI debit card through Internet banking:
- Step 1. Visit the SBI website and log in to your net banking account
- Step 2. Select the ‘Cards’ option then select the ‘Debit cards’ option.
- Step 3. Check for the ‘Request’ section and select the ‘Instant PIN Generation’ option.
- Step 4. Enter your State Bank debit card number and then create a new PIN for your debit card.
- Step 5. An OTP will be sent to your registered number for verification, once you receive it, enter the OTP.
- Step 6. Once verified you will get a notification that your SBI green PIN through internet banking has been successfully generated.
Steps to Generate SBI Green PIN Through Customer Care
Generating your SBI green PIN can also be done by calling customer care service. You can easily call the customer care numbers below and follow the steps given below:

Step 1. Call one of the customer care numbers given above.
Step 2. Choose your preferred language.
Step 3. You will be asked to Press 2 for an ATM and Prepaid Card service.
Step 4. You will then be asked to Press 1 for the SBI PIN Generate service.
Step 5. Enter your SBI Debit Card number and Press 1 to confirm.
Step 6. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number which will be valid for 2 days.
Step 7: You will then need to visit an SBI ATM nearby.
Step 8: Enter your card into the machine, and select the ‘banking’ option.
Step 9: Click on ‘Generate PIN’.
Step 10: Enter your State Bank Account number and click ‘Continue’.
Step 11: Then enter your mobile number and click the ‘Confirm’ button and you will get an OTP.
Step 12: Enter the OTP you received on your phone then you can create your 4-digit PIN.
Step 13: Click ‘Confirm’ and your SBI green PIN will be successfully generated.
Steps to Reset SBI Green PIN
The SBI green PIN can be easily reset or changed at any time you want through SBI’s net banking services. Here are the steps you can follow to reset your SBI green PIN:
- Step 1. Visit SBI’s official website and log in to your internet banking account.
- Step 2. Under the ‘Cards’ section select ‘Debit Cards’.
- Step 3. Then from the ‘Request’ tab, click on the ‘PIN reset/Regeneration’ option.
- Step 4. Enter your debit card number or select the debit card number for which you wish to change the PIN.
- Step 5. Click ‘Continue’ then provide the reason for the SBI ATM PIN change.
- Step 6. You will then receive a temporary OTP on your registered mobile.
- Step 7: Visit a nearby ATM to complete the process.
- Step 8: Insert your Debit card then choose ‘New ATM PIN generation using One Time Password’.
- Step 9: Enter the required information mentioned on the screen. It may include providing your account number and mobile number.
- Step 10: Then enter the OTP you received through net banking.
- Step 11: Click ‘Confirm’ then you can create a new ATM PIN.
