Honor’s Make in India Smartphone Plans Revealed

Honor to start mobiles manufacturing in India

India’s smartphone scene is about to get more thrilling, as Honor is gearing up for smartphone manufacturing in India from November 2025 under a Make in India push.

Now we understand that Honor is not exactly the brand that most Indians were anticipating, but this could prove to be a start for something new. This move could mean cheaper, faster-to-market Honor devices, irresistible festival offers and smarter financing hacks.

Most might not be excited about Honor devices in the Indian market, unlike Apple or Samsung, but this is just the kind of news that gets finance-savvy tech lovers buzzing because they know that Honor is not a pushover.

Read on to learn more about this new decision of Honor and how it can affect the Indian markets.

The Latest Update on Honor India

Honor did have manufacturing units in India from as early as 2015; however, Honor faced serious challenges in production as well as customer support on their devices across India, largely due to the regulations against its country of origin, China, making international transport of spare parts as well as funding difficult.

However, following updated manufacturing plans of Honor, which align with India’s Production-Linked Incentive schemes, paved the way for production plans of smartphones in India.

Now, Honor’s brand partner PSAV Global confirmed that manufacturing will roll out from November 2025. Honor has announced that it will be targeting a 1% market share of the total smartphone market of India and 2,500 crore revenue in the very first year.

They’ve already secured BIS approval for four models, including the newly launched X9c and X7c and plan to launch flagship models like the Honor Magic V3 and Magic 7 Pro in India in sync with global timelines.

Changes Expected For Honor Devices

Lower Cost, Faster Launches

Honor’s decision to proceed with local manufacturing via CKD (Complete Knock‑Down) assembly can cut import costs and lead times. As Honor aligns Indian releases with global schedules, you may get your hands on new Honor smartphones faster and possibly for a lower price.

Expanding Reach in Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 Cities

With India’s broader electronics push, nearly all smartphones sold here are now made domestically. This means wider availability beyond metros, empowering more buyers and enabling smarter spending choices. This is a big leap for a brand that was not selling majorly in the country before.

This new directive might not look like it could cause a ripple in the market.

However, considering certain factors that are about to change, new Honor devices could prove to be a challenge for other smartphones in the market. For example, let’s take a look at the flagship devices of OnePlus and Honor in the year 2025, side by side.

You see, almost all of the specifications are almost the same, offering a fairly high competition among these tech giants. With production plans to start in India, the price can be expected to be somewhat similar as well.

In short, with this step, Honor devices have the potential to change the Indian smartphone landscape, at least against other Chinese tech giants.

Festival Season Meets Smart Financing

November’s timing is perfect for India’s big sale seasons with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days and Amazon’s Great Indian Festival. As the production is set to begin in November of 2025, we will be able to see big changes in the Indian market by the end of 2026.

This may include Honor’s made‑in‑India models bundled with exchange bonuses, limited-time offers and early bird discounts, delighting budget-conscious techies.

E‑commerce platforms often link with banks and fintechs to offer instant personal loans, no-cost EMI and Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) options that make purchasing easier than ever.

This lets you spread the cost of a premium Honor smartphone with minimal strain. If you’re exploring personal loans, check out Buddy Loan’s  EMI calculator or a quick credit score check, so that you can plan your purchase effectively.

Final Word: Evaluating Honor’s Comeback and What That Means To You

As explained, Honor’s India operations stalled earlier due to delayed BIS approvals and operational disruptions. But with approvals now in place and PSAV stepping in, the brand has recrafted its strategy via local partnerships.

If Honor can keep prices competitive and expand availability, you stand to gain, especially if you’re eyeing flagship features without flagship prices.

Moreover, easier access via EMI/BNPL options means smarter upgrades for your device, for you as a user. This marks a strategic shift under the Make in India initiative.
