1. Eligibility: If your average electricity consumption for the previous year (April 2022 to March 2023) is below 200 units, you qualify for free electricity under the scheme.

2. Calculation Formula: The average electricity consumption is calculated by taking the average number of units consumed between April 2022 and March 2023, then adding a 10% increase. For example, if your average consumption was 140 units, a 10% increase would raise this to 154 units. You would then receive 154 units of free electricity each month.

3. Monthly Consumption:

• If your monthly usage is below or equal to your calculated average (e.g., 154 units), your bill will be zero.
• If you consume more than your average but less than 200 units, you only pay for the extra units beyond your average.
• If your consumption exceeds 200 units in a month, you must pay the full bill for that month.

4. New Connections: For new connections or homes, where no previous year’s data exists, the government provides an average of 58-59 units of free electricity per month. After a year, your actual average consumption will be calculated, and free units will be adjusted accordingly.

Step 2: You can then click on the Gruha Jyothi scheme icon.

Step 3: You will be given the option to register or de-link from the Gruha Jyothi scheme.

Step 4: Click on ‘Gruha Jyothi Scheme Registration’.

Step 5: Choose your preferred language, and enter all the necessary details in the Gruha Jyothi Scheme Application Form.

Step 6: Carefully read the declaration then tick the box to agree to the declaration.

Step 7: Enter the word verification code, then click ‘Submit’.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Know The Status of Your Application’.

Step 3: Enter the Escom name, your account ID and then click on ‘Check Status’.

Gruha Jyothi Scheme Karnataka Acknowledgement

After you submit the Gruha Jyothi application form, you will receive an acknowledgement through email or SMS. You can also download it from the Seva Sindhu portal or click here to download.

All you need to do is enter the Escom name and Account or Connection ID and download the Acknowledgement.
